The House Guest

家里的客人

Jim is telling Cecily about his house guest.

吉姆和西西莉說起他家里的客人。

Cecily: Hey, Jim. What's going on? You look like a basket case!

西西莉：嘿，吉姆。你怎么啦?看起來一點(diǎn)精神也沒有!

Jim:You can say that again. Susan's brother dropped in from out of town,so I offered to put him up for a few days. He's drivmg me up a wall. For one thing, he's eating me out of house and home. He stays up till alt hours of the night watching the tube, then raids the fridge before he turns in. The guy's a bottomless pit. You should see the way he puts it away. He even belches after he eats.

吉姆：是啊，蘇珊的弟弟事先沒有打招呼就進(jìn)城來了。我讓他在我家里住了幾天，真是沒有把我給氣死。他在我就離白吃不算，晚上熬著夜，坐在那里看電視，睡覺前還把冰箱里的東西吃個(gè)精光。這家伙的胃口大的像個(gè)無底洞，你是沒看到他那貪吃的樣子，吃飽了就大聲打嗝。

Cecily: How gross. I can't handle people like that. Does he at least give you a hand around the house?

西西莉：真沒教養(yǎng)。這種人我可受不了，他至少幫忙做點(diǎn)家務(wù)吧?

Jim:He doesn't lift a finger! I bend over backwards cleaning up all day and he sleeps in until noon. Oh, and check this out... then he gets on the horn with his friends and invites them over.

吉姆：他連個(gè)手指都懶得動(dòng)，我整天累死累活的打掃房間，他卻一直睡到中午，唉，你聽聽看一起床后還打電話給朋友，邀請(qǐng)他們過來玩。

Cecily: Man, what a freeloader. You better do something quick or he'll never hit the road. After all, he's got it made in the shade here.

西西莉：人哪，他真是把客人當(dāng)成了福氣，你得快點(diǎn)采取行動(dòng)，要不然，他是不會(huì)走的，他一直在這兒實(shí)在太舒服了。

Jim:You think he Etiight stay even longer?

吉姆：你覺得他還會(huì)在我家里住下去?

Cecily: Now, don't go falling apart. If you're that fed up, just kick hitn out... but do it with kid gloves. I know!Tell him a white lie like you're getting the house fumigated!

西西莉：嗨，別太激動(dòng)，你要是受不了。就攆他走…不過要委婉點(diǎn)，對(duì)了!就跟他撒個(gè)謊，說你要給房子消消毒!

Jim:That wouldn't be a lie!

吉姆：那可不是撒謊!
