這篇演講節(jié)選自可口可樂(lè)公司總裁布萊恩·戴森在喬治亞理工學(xué)院畢業(yè)典禮上的致辭。他在演講中講述了對(duì)工作及人生的看法，并提出了12點(diǎn)寶貴的人生建議。其實(shí)，人人都能讓自己的生活變得更加精彩、更加有意義，只是我們不舍得花時(shí)間思考怎樣才能做到，所以我們常常發(fā)現(xiàn)自己生活在抱怨中。學(xué)習(xí)這篇演講的同時(shí)也是在為我們留出思考人生的時(shí)間和空間。

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them--work,family,health,friends amd spirit and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls--family,health,friends and spirit--are made of glass.If you drop one of these,they will be irrevocably scuffed,marked,nicked,damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same.

想象生命是一種往空中拋五個(gè)球的游戲，你把這五個(gè)球分別取名為：工作、家庭、健康、朋友和心靈，而且你要努力不讓他們落地。你很快會(huì)了解到生命是一個(gè)橡皮球。如果你讓它落地了，它還是會(huì)彈起來(lái)。但是，家庭、健康、朋友和心靈這四個(gè)球是用玻璃做成的。如果你讓它們掉到地上，它們將會(huì)不可避免遭到磨損，留下印記、劃痕，摔破甚至落一地，它們將永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)跟以前一樣。

You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How?

你必須了解這個(gè)道理，并且努力保持生活的平衡。但是怎樣才能做到呢？

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different and each of us is special.

不要拿自己和他人比較而貶低自己的價(jià)值，正是因?yàn)槲覀儽舜瞬煌?，所以每個(gè)人才很特別。

Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

不要因?yàn)閯e人看重哪些東西而把它們?cè)O(shè)定為自己的目標(biāo)。只有你才知道什么最適合自己。

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.Cling to them as they were your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

不要將最親密的人或事視為理所當(dāng)然的。好好珍惜他們，就像是你的生命一樣，因?yàn)闆](méi)有他們，生命將使失去意義。

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time you live all the days of your life.

不要讓你的生命總在留戀過(guò)去或是遙想未來(lái)中流逝。如果你活在每個(gè)當(dāng)下，你就活出了人生的精彩。

Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

當(dāng)你還能給予的時(shí)候別輕言放棄。只要你不放棄，萬(wàn)事皆有可能。

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect.It is this fragile thread that blinds us to each together.

不要害怕承認(rèn)你并非完美。我們正是藉由這脆弱的細(xì)絲緊密地聯(lián)系在一起。

Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

不要害怕遇到危險(xiǎn)。我們正是在冒險(xiǎn)中學(xué)會(huì)勇敢的。

Don't shut your love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

不要以真愛(ài)難求為借口而緊閉心扉。找到愛(ài)最快的方法就是給予你的愛(ài)；失去愛(ài)最快的方法就是緊緊地守著你的愛(ài)不放；維系愛(ài)的最好方式就是給愛(ài)一雙翅膀。

Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been, but also where you are going.

不要匆忙地走過(guò)你的一生，以至于忘了自己到過(guò)哪里，要往哪里去。

Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

不要忘記，人類(lèi)最大的情感需要是被人欣賞。

Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

不要害怕學(xué)習(xí)。知識(shí)不會(huì)成為負(fù)擔(dān)，是你可以輕松攜帶的珍寶。

Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.

不要漫不經(jīng)心地蹉跎光陰或信口開(kāi)河。時(shí)間與話語(yǔ)都是收不回來(lái)的。

Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way. Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery. And Today is Gift...that's why we call it The Present.

生活不是一場(chǎng)賽跑，而是每一步都需要體味的旅程。昨天已成歷史，明天還未可知，而今天則是一份禮物：那就是我們?yōu)槭裁捶Q它為“當(dāng)下”。
